Yesterday my post was about an experience I had about a year ago. I was standing about six-seven feet from a lady when she took the first bite out of her biscuit. As she did she said, “It’s going to be a crappy day, there is no butter on my biscuit.” When I heard her I thought, “If that’s the only problem you have today, it won’t be a bad day.” This lady was complaining because there was no butter on her biscuit.
Yesterday, someone replied to my post by saying, “Someone would have probably buttered her biscuit for her” and, that person was right. Which brings me to today’s post.
When something happens that we don’t like, we have two choices; we can complain or we can do something about it. So which approach would you take?
Someone said, “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”
I love that quote….if you don’t like something, work on changing it. Don’t just constantly complain…try to do something about it.
It may be that you have gone through some tough times. Maybe you were treated unfairly at some point. Ok, you can complain about it or you can decide that you are going to move on. You are going to change your attitude.
A couple of years ago, I went through a bad experience with an individual. I complained about that for a while. I kept hoping for an apology or a change from that person. One day, my wife said, “You are looking for something that’s not going to come.”
She was right and at that point, by God’s grace, I began moving on.
Today, if there is no butter on biscuit…don’t complain about it, get some butter and spread it on yourself. Determine that by God’s grace, you are going to move on.
