Where do we turn when we are going through tough times? When we are facing adversity? Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.”

A fortress was a place that was built to keep the people safe. So the Lord is our fortress when going through tough times. How does this happen?

We turn to the Lord and the Lord guides us and protects us. David knew this. I Samuel 30:6 says, “David found strength in the Lord His God.”

Whatever you are facing, the Lord gives us strength. He gives it to us through His word. He provides it through music, through fellowship with friends, through reading a Christian book. The name of the Lord is a fortress, a place of safety for us.

“On Christ the solid rock I stand,

All other ground is sinking sand.
