What is your self-worth based on? For lots of people, their self-worth May be based on their salary, or their title or what kind of vehicle they drive.
But what if your salary gets cut? What if you lose your job? What if you take a job paying less? What then? Is your self-worth diminished?
No it’s not. Our self-worth is not dependent on what we do but instead, who we are in Christ. Some time back I wrote the following as a reminder that my self-worth comes from the Lord;
Today: I will trust God – I am forgiven of my sins- my past is past – I am not the house I live in or the education I have or the vehicle I drive or the position I hold or the money in my bank account – I will not strive for the affirmation of man but obedience to God – I am a child of the King – God doesn’t love me because of what I do or have done; God loves me because of whose I am – I will rejoice and be thankful for the opportunity to do what God wants me to do – I am content with daily provision – I will rejoice in being a child of the king; “we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ” (ROM 8:17).
You are a Child of the KING. THAT is the basis of your self-worth and you are worth the world to the Lord!
