If God were to ask you, “What do you want?”, what would you say? Would you ask for money? or a new home? or a new automobile? or a vacation? a cruise?
After Solomon became king, he went to Gibeon to worship God. He offered sacrifices to God and God appeared to him in a dream. God told Solomon to ask for whatever he wanted.
Now keep in mind… Solomon is young… there were lots of things he could have asked for. But instead, Solomon asked God for wisdom. Solomon knew that he faced a great task of leading the people of Israel. He was very young. And he would face many challenges. So, Solomon prayed for wisdom.
We all need wisdom every day. We all need direction.
Today, maybe you are facing a decision. You have thought and thought and prayed and prayed but you haven’t gotten direction.
James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
So, if you need wisdom, ask the Lord and God will give us guidance in decision-making.
